About Me
Ghazaleh Shokouhaghaei
I worked for about a decade in education system as a teacher, but my passion for helping people and understanding human behavior led me to change careers to Counseling Psychology. I earned my master's degree in Counseling Psychology from Bastyr University and completed my clinical interenship at Ryther and Richmond Pediatric center, where I worked with children, teens, young adults, and their families.
As a therapist in Seattle, I specialize in emotional regulation and helping individuals build a meaningful life, value-based life. I draw from evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT) to help identify and change unhelpful thinking patterns. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, which are essential in improving emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and improving relationships. I also help families better cope with challenging situations at home.
In addition to my clinical work, I'm deeply dedicated to suicide prevention and expanding access to mental health.
